Engineering Manager Permanent / Full Time

The Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring that all production and facility related equipment across the business is reliable, runs as efficiently as possible and complies with all relevant standards with the business goal of ‘Zero unplanned downtime’.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement maintenance policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the reliability and integrity of equipment and facilities.
• Manage a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
• Plan and schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment uptime using the MEX ERP system as a key control, analysis and audit tool
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate with production and operations teams to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements through equipment upgrades, process optimization, and other initiatives.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services and equipment repairs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to safety, quality, and environmental protection.
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to track progress and support decision-making.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the engineering and maintenance department.

Qualifications and Professional Attributes:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems and equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (MEX) and Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
